I'll dominate 'legitimate boxer' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the combatants confronted each other to publicize the upcoming bout.

Ex twice world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to genuinely try to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally famous for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Still, the novice is still one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, consistently making substantial earnings.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old anticipated a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would derail the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual confrontation, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it drove home just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is truly happening.
